Lynn Wyatt’s generosity with Houston Ballet celebrated at dinner on stage in Wortham Theater
What: Dinner celebrating world premiere of Houston Ballet’s Giselle.
Where: On the Brown Stage at Wortham Theater Center.
The scoop: Surrounded by beautiful stage sets from the night’s performance, a select group of ballet patrons joined the company in celebrating Lynn Wyatt, the production’s lead underwriting sponsor. She was joined in the spotlight by Roberta Guidi di Bagno, designer of the magical sets.
Houston Ballet artistic director Stanton Welch applauded Wyatt for making possible the new production in which Welch restored the original score and expanded the story line to showcase the depth of Houston Ballet talent.
Wyatt was honored also in a video highlighting her close friendship with Welch and her fervent support of the arts. Joining the honoree at her table were two of her sons, Steve Wyatt and Douglas Wyatt.
Guest feasted on a three-course dinner from City Kitchen — almond shrimp gazpacho, followed by seared salmon with wild mushrooms, and a chocolate espresso and walnut ice cream truffle.
